Can I connect these speakers to my home theater?

Luke Kosch: Absolutely. However, since they're "active" you must use a "line" level signal from your amplifier. Do not connect them to the speaker wire terminals on your home theater unit. These "studio monitors" appear to have 2 types of input. XLR and TR. A TSR for these would be a 1/4" stereo phone plug, and these monitors have one channel amplification. So you use RCA to 1/4" monaural phone ( 2 contacts) plug cables connected to one of your Denon's "zone 2 line out" RCA connections. This will give you stereo sound, not 2 of the 6 channels for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. Your av receiver doesn't have analog line outs for each channel. Also, these are not really good speakers (studio monitors) for home theater. They're way to good (engineered for a flat response). Great for music recording, as they give you the closest sound signal to what is being recorded (least amount of frequency favoritism). But they'll add power to your sound, that is for sure. Good luck!...Show m! ore

Leif Serabia: Depends if you want to risk cutting off the connector and putting in the wires i do not see any reason why they would not work if they don't you could always use some insulation tape and re connect the plug up to you if you want to try.

Lita Thammorongsa: Yes you can, if you want to burn off your home theater system !!The home theater has a certain capacity (impedance), which is matched with its own speakers, now you put additional speakers, thus putting more load on the amplifier of the home theater. It'll over load the circuit and eventually you'll have a fried home theater system. So i'd suggest no !!

Vernita Robberson: Look and see if your receiver has a pre out for each channel. If it has you can connect an RCA jack to it and an adapter plug for your speaker (TSR, never heard of this type of cable connection) More than likely you have 1/4 plug. You can go to Radio Shack and purchase a cable with an RCA jack on one end and 1/4 jack on t! he other end. Hope this will help you out.
