i want to learn to ride a motorcycle?

Joellen Zorrilla: Look for a motorcycle dealership near you that offers an MSF course.

Stanton Villao: The advice about MSF is good advice. Motorcycle Safety Foundation. The thing about motorcycling you should know is that half of all motorcycle accidents, and half of all fatalities, happen to people with less than 1 year of riding experience. This shouldn't scare you, but you should realize how important it is to start out with the right habits. The MSF studies accident reports to find the right way to teach, and the teachers are all volunteers. They supply the motorcycle, BTW. The course is only a weekend, so then you get a learner's permit and practice in a quiet neighborhood until you get all the controls down cold, so you don't have to think to your self 'Which one of these doodads is the clutch and which is the gearshift?' And you ride slower than you think you need to at first, so you have more time to make decisions. Then you go on rides with friends, with ! someone who already rides. You go out for a Sunday afternoon and have them watch you and make suggestions. Riding with others is much safer, especially at first. Some M/C clubs and even dealers organize newbie-friendly group rides. It's not really hard to ride a motorcycle. If you've learned to drive a standard shift car it will be easier. If you never learned to ride a bicycle, you should start with that. 8^)Good luck! It's really a lot of fun!...Show more

Bernadette Roel: http://www.msf-usa.org/ I took a beginner class thru them. I was skeptical at first that they could really teach anything but it was actually a good informative class.

Marielle Hedeiros: Google "Motorcycle Safety Foundation" or "Motorcycle training course",your city and state, province, etc.,and that should get you a number to call.
