Porfirio Cahall: There is no useful FREE AV out there, you are jeopardizsng your computer using one, I use and recommend AVG Internet Security, Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Anti Spam,Firewall, Link Scanner, Resident Shield, Family Safety, Live Kive, Email Scanner,Update Manager, Online Shield,Anti Rootkit, System Tools, PC Analyser, have to pay extra for this, not much use anyway, Identity Protection. Benita Nancy: Either Avira or Avast.....both are great.I suggest that! if you are worried you have a virus now that you try a scan with Malwarebytes also.You should do this once a week thereafter.http://www.malwarebytes.org/edit - What a load of rubbish Collin, I think youre living in the past a little there.....alot has changed when it comes to free antivirus software. I have tried a good 98% of the Antiviruses out there over the past few years plus I subscribe to all their newsletters and do alot of research. Avira and Avast have proven to have as good as...and in some cases a better detection rate as some of the commercial ones out there. In my opinion, AVG (nowdays) if anything, is one of the less effective out there.....and, I will also mention that my internet habits arent exactly the safest....but I have been infected more while I have had a commercial AV installed than with the free Avira and Avast....but Im not going to go into that side of things....Show more
