A much more practical objection is that the constituion states that the is a mandatory seperation of church and state. So legally speaking we can't use religion at all to condemn or support gay marriage, therefore both your arguements are moot points.Finally I would like to say that gay marriage is actually a right guranteed by the founders of our country.
