Rhett Kaines: global warming is a natural thing, but we humans altered the environment hence the warming is hastened by leap and bounds, we should control our harmful emission to the atmosphere, we should look for alternatives, if we can do that simple thing, then we will survive.
Caroyln Ebach: The global warming is caused by scientists by just giving half details, may be one sided. They have devided world in two parts-believer and non believer in GW. Now a days the scientific research is dictated by capitalistic masters. In fact the truth is never allowed to come out which is sad enough.Just write GW in search area and lot of site names will be displayed on your screen.

Tyler Burkman: No, not as long as it can be stored.
Sena Highman: Yes
Krystal Cordovano: I didn't make the claim that it was free, Kano claimed it would be useless even if it was free.Would you refuse free electricity during the times when it is available?
Chris Wilczewski:
Charline Granes: "Are people disputing that global climate change does not exist, or that it isn't as bad as what people think?"Significant warming is a fantasy that borders on delusion! al. There is certainly a valid argument that the warming pres! ented by activists like Hansen, Jones and Mann is highly distorted and exaggerated. We are still warm compared to the little ice age and are in a relatively warm period. Saying that the fraction of a degree that has been coerced out of the record points to imminent doom would be comical if there weren't so many that swallowed that propaganda....Show more
Brock Anwar: I'd love to discuss this but I need to spend time removing all the snow that fell on my drive way.Better wear a warm coat because it's been colder than normal.
Mee Blumenfeld: No - and Kano would use it just like everyone else.
Seema Hosfeld: People who know what they are talking about dispute neither. Among published climate researchers there is universal agreement the man is causing the environment to warm. The illusion of dispute comes only from those who are ignorant of science and/or those too afraid of what they see as political costs to admit the reality. (The hope that if the just! scream "liberal scientists" enough, their daughters and grand daughters will somehow be able to deal with the problem.)Among scientists and those who follow the research, there is no dispute the AGW is real None....Show more
Ginny Trickett: It does have a proper name; it's just that you 'copy/paste scientists' reject it.
Rosalyn Olivera: Human made global warming is a fact, not something you can beleave or not beleave.Read the thousands articles in this forum, please, and stop this endless global warming questions!
Len Dalba: In this debate it's hard to get a fact that is'nt disputed. Good science is about undisputable fact, you will notice how defensive (and aggresive) pro climate warming experts are, tells its own story.
Darren Heling: I'll believe it when I see it for myself. In the meantime I don't need my utilities to go up by 60% like they are doing in Australia. The start of global taxes.
Nicolas Cooley: I am fairly ignorant about the ! subject of global climate change. But from an unbiased point of view, l! ogic would suggest global climate change is real. Co2 is a green house gas, (this is true), and humans pump it into the atmosphere in many different ways. So are people disputing that Co2 is a green house gas or are they simply simply saying global climate change is real, but the affects are not as severe as most scientists suggest? Please help me form an opinion!!!...Show more
Roosevelt Pendill: No, it's not useless. I use electricity when the sun shines and the wind blows, so if it is free, that's great. Also, electricity can be stored - batteries, etc. I'm all good with solar and wind power.
Giovanna Sherlin: i cant really add to what has been said above except to say the UN GEO - 4 report released in October 2007 is a good up to date source of information on GW, just type in GEO-4 in the search engine and download free summary. It has a very realistic outlook on the future and states scientific facts only.
Sammy Kar: no
Zulema Baccam: Right now, i! t is unknown. Scientists are just feeding us stuff that may not be true. We might not be causing it. It may be just a change in the earth. Those things are normal. Here's something funny- You know how the ice caps are melting, well for some reason, the south pole is bigger that ever. That just goes to show you that scientists dont tell us everything, do they!

Joie Libutti: If you want credible answers from people who actually know what they're talking about, this is not the website to ask this question. I am thoroughly disappointed in the blatant ignorance I've seen in this section. Global Warming isn't a belief, it isn't a theory, and it ISN'T an opinion. It's a fact and it's happening. It hasn't been happening since the beginning of time how it is today. People are making it exponentially worse. And we CAN do something about it. The effects are as! severe as the scientists say, but people are too scared to believe it ! so they develop conspiracy theories so that they can make themselves feel better and not have to get off their ignorant butts to do anything about it. I'm guessing that a majority of the people in this section got their "knowledge" from anti-government articles, articles that dispute facts simply for the pleasure or arguing, and things like that that have no real credible base in factual data. If you want real answers and real facts, check a credible website. Or schedule an appointment at your local college with a environmental science professor. I'm sure they'd be happy to give you some information....Show more
Mahalia Brindle: People put a lot of things in the atmosphere. That doesn't mean it is causing the climate to change significantly. Most skeptics understand that climates vary naturally. The climate has always changed. Only alarmists attempt to lie about that. You have Hansen, Mann, and numerous others that attempt to hide natural climate variation by usi! ng cherry picked proxies which make it look like previous warm and cool periods were less so. They then created a hockey stick with this selected data which makes it look like climate was stable until recently. It goes against geologic and human history.Dana pathetically attempts to suggest that those who are skeptical of his dire conclusions are somehow akin to flat earthers or holocaust deniers. I hope you decide not to be persuaded by arguments as low as that. Keep you mind open and don't believe anything because it is fun or because it might seem like most people beleive it. Aldo Decurtis:
Freddy Shutler: Global warming is suppose to be of natural causes the same way we got the ice age.Right now, it is becasue of us using chemicals for our transportation and this is speeding this natural process up.
Miguel Densley: ......ki
Barrett Alosa: No, I wouldn't turn down free elec! tricity. However, the way your question is worded is not practicle. Ger! many tried this and factories had to temporarily shut down. Even in the remote regions in Africa they need fossil fueled generators for their clinics and hospitals. In order for society to function properly, you need constant and reliable power. If you ever had any executive experience in running a manufacturing facility, you would realize that plant efficiency relies upon constant power. Could you imagine people showing up for work at 7:00 and had to wait until clouds disappeared or the wind started to blow? That factory could not compete with a factory that had constant power. Besides, it was Testla's dream to provide free and plentiful electricity to everyone. He was abruptly shut down in many ways. There is just too much money to be made from supplying power.
Jayson Brod: Exactly - The one I love is that so-called "global warming" causes more weird or extreme weather without ever quantifying what those words mean. But it's expected when dealing with a subjective! "science" like so-called "global warming"
Dwight Siniard: I don't really have any resources, this is acumulated knowledge from environmental science classes i've been taking in college, so i hope it helps, at least a bit.global warming is believed to occur naturally; however, ever since the industrial revolution, the presence of greenhouse gases such as CO2 (carbon dioxide; the burning of fossil fuels & deforestation), CH4 (methane; cow farming or mining), and CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons; completely artifical and are created by humans; emitted by refridgerators and air conditioners) have all increased (measured in parts per million) in the atmosphere thus increasing global warming at an alarming rate....Show more

Emile Midgley: Both. You can find people who will argue anything. There are literally people who still argue that the planet is flat. http://theflatearthsociety.org/cms/A large percentage of people don't believe in evolution, either. Arlen Decorte: There is no pie in the sky and no such thing as a free lunch.
Lucrecia Laurito: Wind and solar can be made work if you have multiple systems. If one wind farm isn't generating much power, another probably will be if it's located somewhere else. In the case of my own country, Ireland,! this isn't the case because the country is small with a fairly uniform geography, but would be the case in a nation the size of the US, for example. One of the other aspects that we often forget is that energy is something that can be bought and sold. Throughout the EU, when excess wind or solar power is generated, it's fed off to other nations. Ireland and the UK share an interconnect, as do the Nordic countries, and various nations throughout the continent. There are plans in Europe for a 'super grid' which would partially solve the sort of problem you're talking about. So, a lot of the benefits of solar and wind will only be available when we have proper trans-national grids.
Marita Stadick: Both, it depends on the level of ignorance. The totally ignorant claim climate change does not exist, the moderately ignorant claim it will have no ill effects. They are both totally wrong
Patricia Bolduc: Both Solar Voltaic Arrays and Wind Turbines require a storage unit! (Batteries or connection to a Public Power Grid) to provide power when! the Sun doesn't shine and the Wind won't blow. Both also cost so much that there is no economic advantage to the individual user. In almost every system evaluated, it is less expensive to purchase power off of the Grid than to install a Solar or Wind power system. By the time the cost of the system is depreciated over the life expectancy of the system, the individual home owner or user, has lost money. That evaluation does not include the cost of maintenance for the system during the life expectancy of the system. The cost of the maintenance will increase the amount of money the user has lost.
Derrick Cacioppo: It is true that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. It is also true that it is a gas that is required for life on earth. You also need to consider that the carbon being released into the atmosphere was absorbed from the atmosphere at some point in time. The questions is has man tipped the scales enough to make the levels increase faster than the earth can absorb it.Gl! obal climate change has been going on since the beginning of time. The science says the earth has been much cooler and much warmer. It is cyclical. Have we disrupted the balance? I seriously doubt it. Should we be more cautious about what we pump into the air we have to breath? Absolutely....Show more
Marcellus Exler: well it is both caused by nature and human activities. it is caused by humans due to the emissions of greenhouse gases and caused by nature due to some phenomenons like volcanic eruptions.

Gerardo Greist: spamming the forum ...
Russel Gajate: It depends what you mean by "free"?Sunlight and wind are "free" but so is coal, gas, oil, wood etc. In all cases, the cost comes from designing, making, installing and connecting the equipment that does the conversion. As a metaphor, think how useful it would be if Disney World was free during the night. You could take the family round for nothing. Then factor in the fact that the opening time would be unknown - you would just have to stand in line until it opened. You could be queuing but it might not open that night. Then add the constraint that you could never tell how long it would be open for: All night, an hour, 10 minutes etc.You might be lucky or you might be stuck far from the exit when the power went off and the place closed. This is why energy storage is required t! o make "free" energy useful. It would add to the cost of the free energy, though. That way you can store the intermittent energy and use it in a controlled way later on.
