What was the longest motor driven non stop aircraft flight on record?

Jammie Taddei: You raise a question in my mind: since you specify "motor", are you referring to electric powered motors, or just generically referring to aircraft in general?

Ronnie Sardi: two aircraft did this both specially designedhttp://www.paratech-parachutes.com/GF-Chute-appr.p...http://www.unb.ca/web/transpo/mynet/voyager.jpg

Morris Cuomo: The longest non-stop flight by a piston-powered aircraft was, I believe, a round-the-world flight by Dick Rutan and Jeanna Yeager in Voyager, an airplane designed expressly for that flight by Burt Rutan, built at his facility in Mojave, California. The flight launched from, and recovered at, Edwards Air Force Base in California. I don't remember the year, offhand, but believe it was in the late 1980s. The flight was non-stop and non-refueled, using only the fuel on board at takeoff. The Voyager, a unique design of composite construction, powered by two dissimilar engines by Continental (one or both was liquid-cooled) ! in a tractor/pusher configuration, is now in the Smithsonian collection at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C....Show more

Warren Kotter: The longest non end passenger flight is with the airbus A340-500 and is from Singapore Changi airport to Newark's Liberty international airport. The scheduled flying time for the this provider is nineteen hours. the different longest scheduled non end flight is from Singapore Changi to la and that has a flight time of 17 hours. i think of its additionally with the comparable plane style.

Jules Ashbach: Around the world. Try to keep up with the news. B-52s did it in the 1960s using air refueling.

Darnell Cutliff: Burt Rutan. He built a global flyer that flew around the world non-stop without re-fueling.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burt_Rutan

Booker Moros: Ouch Dave! B-52H models did it in the 60's but B-29's(B-50 variant) did it in the 50's and B-1B set the ultimate speed record in the 80's(Bastar! ...Dyess pukes). No attempts by the B-36 or B-47 which seems o! dd they were capable of the trip.Dick Rutan and jeanna yeager(no relation to Chuck), nailed the first unrefueled trip in the 80's on Voyager( designed By Burt Rutan, ***** brother). The only round the world folks to my knowledge. Until the Voyager this was a strictly miltary province due to having refuelling aircraft and all the necessary gear and logistics. Good training and I have a grudging admiration for Dyess getting the record(I still dislike them all though)Retired USAF SNCO, Ellsworth AFB, SD...Show more
