Nikita Schroepfer: Yes the filter, also if you have a high effeciency unit,that draws external air in for combustion,through a 3-4 inch Dia..white PVC pipe. (There will also be an exhaust pipe also.) Many of these pipes exit through the side wall of the basement and are visable on the exterior of your residence. If you have the 2 pipe system,they need to be within several feet of each other.That area ,outside around and under the pipes needs to be cleared of possible branches from bushes or small trees or even tall flowers or weeds or grass that may have grown larger during the summer. Because if anything restricts the airflow into the supply pipe ,the furnace will sense a difference in pressur! e,from the in and out pipe and will go into a automatic shutdown and will not restart until the cause of blockage is removed. If so (as the HVAC tech told me):* In the summer, for Air Conditioning, you want the most air "flow" possible so you want the cheap (easy to see thru; maybe $1 a piece; 3 for $5) filter and change it once a month.* In the winter, for heat, they recommend the "accordion-fold" type filter. It is usually more expensive but you will probably only change it twice a season. It cuts the flow a little but cleans the air buch better.ALSO, if you nave Central A/C with the outside compressor unit, you should flush out the coil area, usually some mesh looking stuff, with a garden hose at the start of each s! ummer. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF AT THE FUSE BOX.If you are ! not comfortable with this, call a pro; you can do more harm than good. As mentioned, you can contact the company that installed it or a recommended by friend/family. Some will offer a service "contract" where they will come out twice a year (spring and fall) to prepare the furnace / A/C for the coming season. They may even offer a slight discount for emergency calls.You local utility company may also offer this service thru a HVAC company under contract to them and then put the charge on your bill. Check it out.Since it's only 2 years old, it's probably a high effeciency furnaces. Mine is sensitive to dust, dirt, etc., and the pro will clean it as part of the service.It's not all that complicated but I prefer to let them do it twice a year to make sure it's done right and everything else is okay. answers 0:I have been in this profession on and off since 1999, totaling over 10 years. I want out. Dentistry ranks high as one of the most stressful jobs ever for a reason. If someone has been lucky enough to work with a dentist that isn't high strung and doesn't treat them like a lower class citizen consider yourselves lucky. I have worked with many and most (not all) were/are a nightmare. I'm currently top assistant, hold the highest seniority and all but bottom line; I'm not happy and it took a very serious toll on my mental well-being. I'm paid well hourly but that's the only positive.Here comes the scary part: I'm leaving to go back to being a Cosmetologist. I'm licensed so that's taken care of. Who leaves a medical profession to be a hair stylist? Nobody. I'm 38 years old and I am scared. I just want to be happy and only need about 25-27k a year to live co! mfortably. I have savings in the bank in case the first year I don't do so well as back up. Believe me I have all my ducks in a row and have been planning my "escape" for a while. It's seems most people don't have much faith in this decision. I don't blame them but I am determined. Am I crazy for doing this? This feels so beneath me but maybe my Doc's arrogance has rubbed off. You obviously are burnt out from this profession and it has impacted your quality of life. Leaving a secure job to work in cosmetology is a bad idea in a recession! Many people aren't getting their haircut by a hairstylist or are going less often then before. I see the proof with hair salons that I have gone into. The one that my mother always goes to has a lot less employees now and usually only the 2 owners are there cutting hair. They are not as busy as they were years ago. It got so slow that they don't have a ton of other stylists anymore. Just the 2 of them and 1 or 2 part time employees and one receptionist. Bad idea to go from having money, dental care, and health insurance to having maybe an hourly wage or living off of tips with possibly NO health ! insurance.If you dislike the dentist just apply elsewhere! Or become an orthodontic assistant! You work more one on one with the patient and the job isn't as difficult as being a general practice dental assistant. And you could get the job right now, from your years of working as a dental assistant....
